The icon is a window to another world

a dimension that transcends us, simply a window to heaven. She lets us look into her secret, and at the same time through her comes the mystery of blessing. Not only can we look at the icon, but the icon is looking at us.

Many icons are shrouded in mystery, and it is true that there have been many miraculous icons in history, whether "weeping", healing from disease, or winning battles over enemies.

Icons are worshiped mainly in Orthodoxy and Orthodox churches, however, they were formed in early Christianity, before the division of the church, and therefore we can say that they have their place in the Western culture of faith.

In the past, household icons were placed in places of honor. Upon entering or leaving the house, everyone bowed or otherwise worshiped and greeted the saints on the icons.
