Icons of biblical story
In orthodox traditions, Christian icons are deeply rooted demonstrating liturgical holidays.
The most famous icon theme is probably the icon demonstrating the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ or the icon of Nativity. It is caused by Easter and Christmas being the most celebrated holidays in liturgy. Nevertheless, Byzantine icons Pentecost or Transfiguration of Christ are also worth mentioning.
According to the tradition, the Christian icon Transfiguration of Christ was a final exam for icon writers. To these days, icons for liturgical fests are extremely favourite in orthodox liturgy.
